To enter a query into ComputerLink Catalog, just type in a few descriptive words and hit the 'enter' key (or click on the Search button) for a list of relevant item. Since Search only returns item that contain all the words in your query, refining or narrowing your search is as simple as adding more words to the search terms you have already entered. Your new query will return a smaller subset of the items Search found for your original "too-broad" query.
Choosing Keywords
For best results, it's important to choose your keywords wisely. Keep these tips in mind:
- Try the obvious first. If you're looking for information on ASUS, enter "ASUS".
- Use words likely to appear on an items with the information you want. "ASUS P4" gets better results than "ASUS P4 with ddr and 5 pci ram usb 2.0".
- Make keywords for the Code is also possible. "NP-DL" gets more relevant results of the DLINK than "DLINK Networking"
Automatic "and" Queries
By default, Search only returns pages that include all of your search terms. There is no need to include "and" between terms. Keep in mind that the order in which the terms are typed will affect the search results. To restrict a search further, just include more terms. For example, to buy ASUS AGP Video Card, simply type:

|
|||

Capitalization
Search searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for "ASUS AGP", "Asus AgP", and "asus agp " will all return the same results.
Available Items Only
To Search with in the available items only just simply select the "Available Only" check box.
Word Variations (Stemming)
To provide the most accurate results, Search uses "stemming" or support "wildcard" searches. In other words, Search searches for partial words that you enter in the search box. Searching for "base" will yield "100BASE-T" or "10/100BASETX-3", etc.
Search By Category
The Advance Search is a good place to start if you're not exactly sure which search keywords to use because you can search with in a certain Category. For example, searching for ATI Video Card within the Video Card Category, you may simply click on the left side column of Video Card and select "Only Video Card" check mark or go to Advance Search and Select the Video Card Selection and type "ATI".
